Shiraz Viognier

Made with high quality French oak, this wine is based on the northern Rhone style, with 4% Viognier co-fermented with Shiraz. It is full of dark cherry and raspberry flavours, complex oak flavours and fine tannins. It has real depth and intensity. This is our most awarded wine. Twelve vintages have shown that this wine improves with age, with the first vintage (2005) at its peak now.

Shiraz Viognier 2016

(current release)

“Bright crimson-purple; the bouquet and palate are given a lift by 15% whole bunches and co-fermentation of 4% viognier. Plum and cherry fruit flavours are juicy and enticing, given a degree a gravitas by the oak and tannin management. Top result from a very good vintage.”

Shiraz Viognier 2015

( reserve wine )

“Co-fermented with 4% viognier, matured for 9 months in French oak, mostly new. Deep, full crimson-purple; the promise of the complex, dark fruits of the bouquet is fulfilled by the elegant, yet intense, medium-bodied palate. It has superb shape, texture and balance. Small wonder Brian Johnston says it's the best so far.”
