96 Pts from James Halliday for McKellar Ridge 2015 Shiraz Viognier

Added Friday, 6/1/2017

2015 McKellar Ridge Canberra District Shiraz Viognier

Co-fermented with 4% viognier, matured for 9 months in French oak, mostly new. Deep, full crimson-purple; the promise of the complex,

dark fruits of the bouquet is fulfilled by the elegant, yet intense, medium-bodied palate. It has superb shape, texture and balance. Small

wonder Brian Johnston says it's the best so far. 13.8% alc.(James Halliday Magazine, January 2017)

Soft cherry notes to the chocolate and fruit nose. Good fruit driven palate filled with plenty of life. The tannins are silky and finish is long and lingering. 90 points

2011 Riesling

Added Wednesday, 1/8/2012

Pale straw-green; another Canberra District Riesling from '11 to have a dramatically full-flavoured and very long palate, with lime juice and racy acidity, combining to provide both intensity and length. Rating 94. To 2030 ( James Halliday)
