Gala Dinner At Aubergine Restaurant
McKellar Ridge and Taemas Wines annual gala dinner this year will be held at the much awarded Aubergine restaurant on Wednesday 24th October at 6.30 pm. Enjoy a special selection of McKellar Ridge and Taemas wines matched to a superb five course degustation dinner. $110 per head including wines. Winewise Success
McKellar Ridge won a Silver medal at the recent Winewise awards for the 2008 Trio (Bordeaux Cabernet blend) (Class 81) showing that Canberra District can produce very good Cabernets and they have long life – in fact they are rewarded by cellaring as the great Bordeaux wines are. This may partly explain why Canberra Cabernets often fail to excite when shown young at wine shows, but later blossom into great wines.
Harvest Festival April 14 - 15
McKellar Ridge will be open both days from 10 am – 5 pm . At 11 am and 2 pm each day, Brian will be conducting a “Tour des Vats” in the winery so that you can see how this year’s vintage is progressing. In the cellar door you will have the opportunity to do a vertical tasting of Shiraz Viognier from 3 different years. A tapas plate matched with a glass of wine will be available for purchase if you are feeling peckish.There are also a number of new paitings on the Wall of Watercolours.
Easter
We are planning to open the cellar door on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the Easter break so If you are going to be around the Canberra district over Easter you might like to call in.
In addition, Springers Rest Cafe/Restaurant at Murrumbateman will be offering a “McKellar Ridge Meal” – a special menu of dishes matched to McKellar Ridge wines. Diners will also receive a McKellar Ridge voucher offering an extra 10% off our regular prices at the cellar door over Easter.
